Updated depth chart after Buffalo Bills select Keon Coleman

This offseason there hasn't been more changes at any position for the Buffalo Bills than at wide receiver. The team would see Gabe Davis and Trent Sherfield leave as free agents while also having to cut Deonte Harty to create cap space.

The big move though was when the team traded away Stefon Diggs earlier this month to the Houston Texans. General manager Brandon Beane has tried to bring in wide receivers during free agency and was able to sign Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins.

However, it seemed all along that the Bills were going to find that difference maker in the NFL Draft and they hope they have with Keon Coleman out of Florida State.

X receiver: Keon Coleman/Mack Hollins
Z receiver: Khalil Shakir
Y/Slot receiver: Curtis Samuel

While Keon Coleman is the first wide receiver drafted, he is not going to be a replacement for Stefon Diggs but rather Gabe Davis. He is a big wide receiver who can be an effective run blocker who will be lined out wide.

Coleman doesn't have great speed and doesn't seem to be the type of wide receiver that the Buffalo Bills were looking for. It has been mentioned a few times this offseason about trying to get a wide receiver that can stretch the field and gets yards after the catch.

That is not Coleman's strength but it is for Curtis Samuel and that is why he will be the perfect slot receiver in this offense. It also puts Khalil Shakir in line to be Stefon Diggs replacement and he will be under a lot of pressure to produce this season for the Buffalo Bills.
