Recently added Buffalo Bills who are already cut candidates
Travin Howard
The Buffalo Bills have signed a number of former Los Angeles Rams that were part of their Super Bowl team in 2021. It began with Von Miller last offseason but this year have signed David Edwards, Leonard Floyd, Taylor Rapp, and Travin Howard. The Bills would sign Howard shortly after rookie minicamp where he had a tryout.
Howard was a seventh round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2018 NFL Draft with one career start over four seasons. While the Bills have an open competition to replace Tremaine Edmunds at middle linebacker, Howard probably won't be much of a factor there.
However, Travin Howard has plenty of experience on special teams with 564 snaps over the past three seasons, and even played 71% of the special team snaps in 2019. The challenge for Howard is the Buffalo Bills already have Tyler Matakevich, who is an excellent special teams player.
The Bills are unlikely to be able to carry two linebackers who are exclusively special teams players. If he can impress the coaching staff on defense to potentially be a backup linebacker it will absolutely help his chances but he seems like a longshot at this point.
