It feels like a long time since Bills fans have enjoyed a win. Maybe that’s exaggerating, but it certainly does feel that way. The Buffalo Bills have dropped their last two games, falling to 3-2 and the panic meter should be attended to. One bad game against the Baltimore Ravens? No worries, every team eventually falls flat on their face. However, this matchup against the Houston Texans feels different because there was so much that could have been changed that would have resulted in a Bills win.

At the end of the day, they didn’t get the win. At the same time, they were on their way in the second half after James Cook and Keon Coleman managed to get into the endzone to pull the Bills within three points.

In the 4th quarter, the Bills looked like they had momentum on their side and it appeared that the Bills were playing come-from-behind football. However, the Bills suffered a scare when Josh Allen was brought down by a Texans defender and his head bounced off of the turf and it looked like Allen was knocked out for a second or two.

It was a scary sight for the Bills and the expectation of Allen missing the rest of the game was setting in…but Allen had different plans. He would miss just one play before being cleared to return for action. However, that decision has caused some backlash on the Bills and the NFL.

Former NFL linebacker and current sports analyst Emmanuel Acho posted a video on “X” that called out the handling of Allen’s injury, in which Acho's tweet also included a video by Warren Sharp of the injury to Allen's head.

It didn’t stop with Acho. Former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel also gave his opinion on the concussion protocol and how it is “flawed” with Allen being allowed to return as quick as he did.

The Buffalo Bills could be in for some trouble with the handling of Josh Allen's head injury

The NFL has developed protocols that are so strict when it comes to protecting players that have noticeable hits to their heads. The fact that we saw Allen bounce his head off of the turf, lay on the ground for sometime, and then return after missing just one play is highly concerning as to how this process was carried out.

It would not be surprising to see the Bills face some heat this week about this because of how serious the matter is.
