The Buffalo Bills don't face the New York Jets for another two weeks but some news dropped on Tuesday that could greatly impact that game.

While appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers noted that his knee is a little "banged up" and "swollen" following the Jets' loss to the Broncos. That loss, by the way, was a 10-9 defeat where the Jets couldn't find the end zone. The Broncos offense is abysmal yet that team was still able to knock the Jets off at home.

Bills might be getting Aaron Rodgers and the Jets at the perfect time

Before the Bills and Jets meet up in Week 6, the Jets not only have a banged up Rodgers but they're heading overseas to play the Vikings in Week 5. It's been tradition in the past to give a team traveling internationally a bye week after they return home to the States, but that won't be the case for the Jets. They'll be playing the Bills after an international game (though they get to wait until Monday, so at least there's that for them).

After the Jets had Rodgers for four whole snaps in 2023, he's remained healthy enough for their first four games of the 2024 season. However, it hasn't helped New York's offense, as the team is 2-2 and just outside the bottom 10 in total offense.

The Bills weren't considered to run away with the AFC East title in 2024 due to Rodgers' return to the Jets' starting lineup and the Dolphins hoping to build on their 2023 season but right now, Buffalo appears to be the best team in the division by a wide margin. They just suffered their first loss of the season and while it was a blowout to the Ravens, it was against a good team who desperately needed a win after falling in the hole early.

While we don't root for injuries in the NFL, Rodgers' injury news paired with the Jets not receiving a bye after their international game right before they play the Bills is great news for this team. Let's hope they can get back on track against the Texans this week and then take it to the Jets in Week 6 to capture a commanding lead in the AFC East race.
