There are plenty of times where fans and analysts overreact to news and highlights that are shared with the public. While it is all fun and games, there are times when these highlights and news become a big deal if we hear about it again. When it comes to the Buffalo Bills, one player that has been featured in various highlights throughout the offseason and training camp is wide receiver Keon Coleman.

The Bills drafted Coleman in the second round this year of the NFL Draft and his outgoing personality has not only caught the attention of his teammates, but also Bills Mafia. Coleman has a fantastic sense of humor who seems to be clicking with star quarterback Josh Allen up to this point. It’s too bad that we did not get to see more of Coleman in Buffalo’s first preseason game. He would have just one reception for eight yards. However, Coleman was targeted twice in the endzone by Mitch Trubisky.

Even though Coleman was basically nowhere to be found, that game doesn’t define who he will be as a player. When the Bills hit the practice field again on Monday, Coleman found himself in the highlight reel where he had a phenomenal catch from a pass from Allen.

This catch proves the Buffalo Bills made the right decision by drafting Keon Coleman

I get it, it’s just one catch in a practice. However, his skillset is demonstrated as to what he can truly bring to the Buffalo offense in a game that matters. With his build, Coleman will have plenty of opportunities to jump up for a ball over a defender or two to make a highlight catch. The Bills have not had a receiver that has had Coleman’s build in awhile so it will be a great fit for a strong-armed quarterback in Josh Allen.

Having Coleman in this offense with two speedy receivers like Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel provides the perfect balance. Joe Brady will be able to utilize the playbook in various ways that will move the chains. Coleman is one of very few rookie receivers who have a great situation as far as what kind of quarterback he has throwing him the ball. It will be soon enough before Bills fans will finally get to see what their top rookie can provide in a game that will actually count against them.
