Josh Allen refuses to take the bait in postgame interaction with Stefon Diggs

There are quite a bit of storylines to cover after the Buffalo Bills' Week 5 loss to the Houston Texans. For one, this is a team that started out 3-0 and is now 3-2.

This team looked like the best team in football through three weeks, but were the Bills simply taking advantage of a lighter schedule to start the season? The past two games, Buffalo has fallen to some of the top teams in the AFC, and that should sound an alarm.

Aside from attempting to figure out just which Bills team this one is, another storyline this past week was of course the first matchup between former Buffalo wide receiver Stefon Diggs and his old team.

Specifically, all eyes were going to be on any potential interaction between Diggs and his former quarterback Josh Allen. By now, most of us have followed the saga that has been their relationship. It was seemingly up and down throughout their time together in Buffalo, but Allen always erred on the side of mutual respect when speaking about his former teammate.

After the Bills' loss on Sunday afternoon, it was time for the long-awaited moment between the two of them.

Following the game, cameras followed Allen as he shook hands with his opponents. What cameras also caught, though, was Allen visibly seeking out his former teammate in order to congratulate him.

For those who haven't seen the screenshot of Diggs' viral "side eye" glare at Allen, that's been the main talking point in reference to the receiver's point of view. As for Allen, though? It was more of the same.

Despite the side eye "controversy," Allen remains focused on football. He was asked after the game about the past week's buildup of the matchup between he and Diggs, specifically on social media. But, Allen didn't take the bait. He went the route of being a true professional.

"I'm not on social media. I don't see any of that. He's on their team and is a great player and made some good plays tonight for them. He was on the winning team," the quarterback said.

As for Diggs, this game obviously meant more to him than it did to Allen. To no one's surprise, Diggs had plenty of thoughts and emotions about this one:

"I can't say I didn't think about this game when I got traded. I held it in all week energy-wise. I just try to keep it professional but obviously in the back of my mind it meant a lot to me. I wanted to do more showing than telling," he said via the Democrat and Chronicle.
