Defensive Tackles

Ed Oliver

In the offseason, the extension the Buffalo Bills agreed to with Ed Oliver seemed to be a bit of a surprise. The former first round pick showed flashes but didn't seem to live up to being a Top 10 pick.

However, Oliver has made Brandon Beane look very smart with the way he has started the season. Through four games, he already has three sacks, six tackles for a loss, and seven QB hits and is only two sacks, four tackles for a loss, and seven QB hits from setting career highs in those categories.

Grade: A

DaQuan Jones

As good as Ed Oliver has been, he might not be the best defensive tackle on the Buffalo Bills defense right now. That honor belongs to DaQuan Jones, who has been a force on the interior of this line.

In four games, Jones has 10 tackles, three tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks and five QB hits. Similar to Oliver, he only needs one more sack and one more tackle for a loss to set career highs. This past week against the Dolphins might have been his best game yet as Pro Football Focus graded him as the 6th best defender and the best interior defensive lineman.
