No matter how much hype an NFL team is facing going into a season, there is still a possibility that worst case scenarios can happen at any moment. Just ask the New York Jets with what happened with Aaron Rodgers last season. The Buffalo Bills have not finished in last place since 2013 when they went 6-10. From 2008-2013, the Bills finished last in the AFC East every single season,so you could say that things have definitely turned around for the better.

The Bills have won their division in every season since 2020 and it is very rare that a team goes from first to worst. Buffalo looks like they took a step back with all of their cap casualties this offseason, but they still have the best quarterback in the division and the most continuity within the coaching staff.

The AFC East is going to be tough this year. At full health amongst all four teams, the Bills are going to be heavily challenged. If it weren’t for the New England Patriots, this division would be arguably the best one heading into 2024.

The Bills are going to need to hope that nothing catastrophic happens to their roster to avoid a last place season. Brad Gagnon from Bleacher Report created a list as to why every team in the NFL could finish in last place. Everything is always possible when it comes to the NFL, but the reasons that Gagnon gave about the Bills are beyond weak which shows that the Bills should not finish in last place.

"Without his top two receivers on paper from 2023, and with the team taking a hit altogether in free agency, Josh Allen can't carry a Bills team that is challenged heavily by Aaron Rodgers' return and a potential resurgence in New England."

First, the Miami Dolphins are the biggest threat to the Bills for the AFC East and them not being mentioned here is laughable. When it comes to the Jets, Rodgers is coming off a big time injury at an older age. He is going to have to move out of the pocket and he has not been the most mobile the last two years like he was back with the Packers.

With the “potential resurgence” with the Patriots, they should be the last team that the Bills have to worry about. There is a new head coach in town along with a rookie quarterback. The Patriots are in a full rebuild and are going to have more pain than joy this season. The Bills will be challenged for the AFC East if no major injuries happen within the division, but saying that Aaron Rodgers or the potential new look Patriots could cause them to finish in last place is just ridiculous.
