Buffalo Bills vs. Washington Commanders: Final score prediction for Week 3
After a dominant home win against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Buffalo Bills are back on the road for a Week 3 matchup against the Washington Commanders.
This game has the potential to be very similar to Week 1 of this season against the New York Jets. The reason is that the Commanders have an excellent defensive line that can take over a game and disrupt an offense pretty easily.
The Commanders not only will have Chase Young and Montez Sweat rushing off the edge but also have one of the best defensive tackles in the league, Daron Payne, pressuring up the middle. Payne was dealing with an injury but after being a full participant on Friday he should be ready to play.
Last week, the Bills offense line had a great game protecting Josh Allen and were able to minimize the impact of Maxx Crosby. It will be worth noting if that was a one-time performance or if the offensive line can consistently protect Josh Allen.
However, like any game the key is really going to come down to turnovers and who can force more. In Week 1, the Bills lost the turnover battle 4 to 1 but last week against the Raiders won it decisively with three turnovers while not giving the ball away at all.
The Commanders have an inexperienced quarterback in Sam Howell who has played well over the first two weeks but also Sean McDermott has done a good job confusing quarterbacks like Howell. If the Bills can force some turnovers and give the offense a short field, while also not turning it over, and helping Howell then this is a game they should win.
Thankfully the weather doesn't appear like it will be much of a factor, according to WGRZ meteorologist Patrick Hammer, which could have made this game much closer. The Buffalo Bills keep the momentum going that they built against the Raiders and come away with a double digit win.
