Buffalo Bills: Updated AFC East standings after Week 2

3.) Buffalo Bills - win vs. Las Vegas Raiders, 38-10

The Bills needed a bounce-back win after a horrific Week 1 performance and they not only bounced back but showed the NFL what they are capable of when Josh Allen plays mistake-free football. It wasn’t just Allen who balled out, but the defense also dominated after giving up the first touchdown of the game to Davante Adams. The team overall looked alive and was flying around against the Raiders. 

On the offensive side of the ball, Allen completed 80 percent of his throws while throwing for three touchdowns making it his fifth time he has put up these numbers in his career. The run game between James Cook, Damien Harris, and Latavius Murray was able to be established as Cook ran the ball for 123 yards, and both Harris and Murray saw the endzone each.

Nine different weapons were targeted in the pass attack which helped spread the ball around rather than utilizing one or two guys at the most throughout the game. However, the most impressive unit may have been the offensive line, only giving up two sacks but none from star edge rusher Maxx Crosby. The pocket looked clean all day and Allen was given time to scan the field to make the best play possible. 

As far as the defense, they did not let the Adams touchdown get in their head as they shutdown the run game of the Raiders (Josh Jacobs finished with -2 yards off of 9 carries), and the defensive line got to Jimmy Garoppolo all game long and he ended up tossing two interceptions (one to Terrel Bernard and one to Matt Milano). 

The Bills looked like themselves again with this dominating performance, and look to keep this momentum going as they take on the 2-0 Washington Commanders next week.
