2.) New York Jets - loss vs. Dallas Cowboys, 30-10

The first game where Aaron Rodgers did not take the field due to a torn achilles injury, it was the Zach Wilson show going into Dallas to take on the Cowboys. With the offense having to take a different approach for the rest of the season, this was not an anticipated great first test for the offense as they had to take on a Dallas defense that demolished the New York Giants the week before.

The Jets’ offense was introduced as the second offensive unit who the Cowboys defense dominated with three interceptions, a fumble recovery and three sacks. The one highlight that the Jets’ offense showed was a beautiful Zach Wilson-to-Garrett Wilson 68 yard touchdown pass that Wilson sprinted down the field for a touchdown. However, that would be one of his only two catches for the afternoon.

The Jets’ defense managed to contain the run against Tony Pollard (25 carries, 72 yards and a score), but they could not defend the pass as Dak Prescott threw for 255 yards including 143 yards to Ceedee Lamb who caught 11 catches off of 13 targets. Both Cowboys’ tight ends Jake Ferguson and Luke Schoonmaker both grabbed a touchdown reception each as well.

The Jets moving forward may turn back to their usual game plan from the last couple of seasons, play hard-nosed defense and run the ball if Zach Wilson is not able to carry the passing attack. The Jets will look to get back on track against the Patriots, who are still looking for their first win.
