The Buffalo Bills are entering the 2023 season considered to be a Super Bowl contender. They have one of the best rosters in the league and are one of the best teams in a very competitive AFC.

However, the roster is far from perfect and there are a few areas of concern entering this season. A few of these positions may never be an issue as long as the starters avoid injuries but if that does happen, it may be a challenge for the coaching staff to fill that absence.

4. Quarterback

One of the reasons that the Buffalo Bills are often in the discussion for Super Bowl contenders is because of Josh Allen. He is one of the best quarterbacks in the league and is easily the most important player on the roster.

It is almost impossible to find another quarterback that can do what Allen does and the Bills plan has been to find veteran quarterbacks who have shown they could win as starters. In 2021, it was Mitchell Trubisky and last year was Case Keenum.

This season, the Buffalo Bills brought in Kyle Allen to back up Josh Allen, and outside of 2019 when he started 12 games, he has never been a full-time starter in the NFL. Allen has only started 19 games over the past five years and has yet to play in a playoff game in his career.

The good news is that Josh Allen has been incredibly durable and has started every game over the past four seasons. The Buffalo Bills are hoping that trend continues because the depth after him is unproven and a concern at this point.
