Khalil Shakir is on the rise
I mentioned earlier in the week that Khalil Shakir's snap count share has been on the rise since Week One of the season. I also said he needs to be featured in the Bills' offense as their top option in the slot and the Bills need to stop with the revolving door of players at the position. I don't want to say I told you so, but I'm going to say I told you so.
In the last two weeks, Shakir has received ten targets and turned all of them into receptions. Against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you had six receptions for 92 yards, both career highs. I think this is only the beginning for him too. Through the first six weeks of the season, he's gotten only six targets but he turned those into five receptions.
That's a total of 16 targets and 15 receptions. He has added 167 yards and one touchdown so far. His 14 receptions and 167 yards this season are both season highs for him and he will look to continue to add to those numbers over the second half of the season, as I expect the Bills will continue to incorporate him into their weekly game plan.
