As the Buffalo Bills get into the thick of their offseason program and training camp practices, later on, the roster will be pretty much set for about 70-80 percent of it.

However, it's the tail end of that depth chart that's always fun to watch come together. It's those training camp battles that create diamonds from the rough, and sometimes, those are the players who can have some of the biggest impact down the road.

This offseason is no different. The Bills have a few particular positions which they could use someone to step into, step up and make a difference right away. The following four players just might surprise us this summer and make the roster, come Week 1.

Kingsley Jonathan might surprise and make the Buffalo Bills 2023 roster

One of the areas that the Bills desperately need someone to step up is in their pass rush group. If Von Miller is going to be out for part of the regular season, and most would agree that he probably will, then Buffalo needs more than what they currently have. They could, of course, make a move for a free agent, but if not, then someone within will have to make an impression.

The door is wide open for someone to emerge and impress, because the Bills don't have a legitimate threat at the position other than Gregory Rousseau. Kingsley Jonathan went undrafted last year out of Syracuse before Buffalo signed himi, and ultimately released him before the start of the regular season.

After a short stint with the Chicago Bears, Jonathan returned to the Bills and is a definite practice squad candidate. Jonathan moves very well laterally, which is important working against elite offense tackle talent. He also has a strong base. If he can channel his strengths throughout training camp, he might surprise and make the final roster and become an impact, rotational player.
