Buffalo Bills 2023 season betting preview: Super Bowl odds, win total prediction, prop bets and more
The Buffalo Bills have been one of the best teams in the NFL for three years now, but yet they still have no AFC Championships to show for it. It's time for them to finally get over the hump with Josh Allen and co.
They're returning the majority of their roster, but added in an offensive weapon in Dalton Kincaid, the tight end out of Utah who was selected with the 25th overall pick. They also made an important move in re-signing Jordan Poyer.
I broke down my best bet for this Bills team in my "32 bets for 32 teams" article, which you can read here.
In this article, I'm going to break down all of the available futures odds for the Bills this season, including their Super Bowl odds and their projected win total.
Buffalo Bills Super Bowl 58 odds
The Bills are once again one of the betting favorites to win this year's Super Bowl. The only teams with shorter odds are the two teams who faced-off in last year's big game, the Chiefs and the Eagles.
At +900, a $100 bet would win you a profit of $900 if the Bills are able to achieve the feat. The Bills have now made the playoffs in four straight seasons. It's about time they played in a Super Bowl. It'd be their first appearance since Super Bowl XXVIII against the Cowboys.
Buffalo Bills win total prediction for the 2023 season
As I wrote about in my "32 bets for 32 teams" article, the OVER on their win total is my favorite bet for the Bills this season. This is what I wrote:
"Either we’ll look back at this as being the easiest bet of 2023 or we’re going to feel stupid for falling for an obvious trap.
"The Bills have won at least 11 games in three straight seasons and went 13-3 last year (we can even call it 13-4 if you want to give them a loss for the Damar Hamlin game). Are they really going to have their record decrease by three whole wins?
"They obviously have a tough schedule and play in an extremely competitive division, but this team is too talented to not go at least 11-6. The Bills were the third best team in net yards per play last season and will be returning largely the same roster with the addition of first round pick, Dalton Kincaid who will give Josh Allen another weapon to play with at tight end."
Buffalo Bills odds to win AFC East
The Bills have won the AFC East in three straight seasons and they're favored to do it once again in 2023. Despite the Jets acquiring Aaron Rodgers and the Dolphins ready to make another push at the division crown, oddsmakers still have faith the AFC East goes through Buffalo.
Buffalo Bills odds to win AFC
The AFC in 2023 might be the best conference we've seen in the past two decade. The Chiefs, Bills, Bengals, Ravens, Jets, Chargers, Dolphins, and the Jaguars all have a legitimate shot of winning the conference.
Still, just like the past two years, it's the Chiefs, Bills, and Bengals who are favored above the rest. It won't be an easy season for Buffalo, but expect them to be in a mix at season's end.
Buffalo Bills odds to make the playoffs
At -245 odds, the Bills have an implied probability of 71.01% of making the playoffs this year.
Best Buffalo Bills season-long prop bet
Stefon Diggs is a great longshot bet to score the most receiving touchdowns this upcoming season. He finished tied for third in receiving touchdowns last season with 11. Only Davante Adams (14) and Travis Kelce (12) had more.
Now, with Garoppolo throwing to Adams, we can assume he's out of the mix to lead in this stat again this year. Sure, there's still plenty of other competition, but Diggs has a nose for the end zone, finishing third in this stat last year, but yet is sixth on the odds list to achieve the feat.
I love this bet at 12/1.
