Tyrell Shavers - Wide Receiver

Here is yet another receiver that seems to have stolen the hearts of some Bills fans. He's made some plays in the preseason and will get another opportunity in the final game to make more. The practice squad is the perfect place for a player like Shavers, who has the pedigree of a legitimate NFL receiver but could use a year of development.

Let's be honest with ourselves, Stefon Diggs is not getting any younger and the drop-off will come sooner than later. The Bills will need some receivers in the wings, waiting and biding their time to contribute, so adding Shavers and Isabella to the practice squad would be the move to make right now, with an eye to the future.

We also have to consider the possibility of life without Gabe Davis. He looks poised thus far to have that breakout season we expected last season. If he does and the Bills can't get an extension done beforehand, there is a very real possibility a team throws a large bag of money at him to lure him out of Buffalo in free agency next year. For these reasons, the Bills need to try to stash a couple of good receivers on the practice squad and hope they don't get plucked off of it, but Shavers is not ready to contribute this season.
