Steven Nelson

Steven Nelson is another veteran cornerback who has extensive experience as a starter with 115 career starts between his time with the Chiefs, Steelers, Eagles, and Texans. This past season with the Texans was one of the best of his career with four interceptions and 12 passes defended while allowing one touchdown and a QB rating of 73.3.

Similar to Gilmore, the Bills would need to sell Nelson on the idea of being backup which he may not be interested in considering the season he just had. However, if the Bills were interested this would not be anything new as they were one of numerous teams that reached out to Nelson back in 2021 when he was a free agent before he signed with the Texans.

The addition of Nelson would be a great move for this defense because he excels in zone defense but more importantly could play both outside but also inside at nickel if the need were to arise.
