5 Buffalo Bills who lost the game in Week 5 against Jaguars
Ed Oliver
When looking at the box score, Ed Oliver seemed to have a pretty good game. He finished with nine total tackles, three tackles for a loss, one sack, one QB hit and one forced fumble. That forced fumble was just outside the red zone and the Jaguars were likely to get at least three points, if not a touchdown on that drive.
However, early in the game Ed Oliver made two costly mistakes that helped the Jacksonville Jaguars get out to an early lead. On their second drive of the game, the Jaguars were moving down the field and faced a 3rd and 6 from the 10-yard line.
The pass would end up being incomplete but the Jaguars kept the drive alive thanks to an illegal use of hands penalty on Oliver. The Jaguars would find the end zone three plays later but once again Oliver was called for a penalty, this time a roughing the passer.
The Jaguars would take the penalty on their extra point attempt and would go for two, which they converted and took an 8-0 lead. Ultimately this would be a five point swing and in a game the Jaguars won by the same margin, it is hard to look past these two penalties.
