3.) Kaiir Elam proves his worth
With the season-ending injury to Tre’Davious White, this could open the door of opportunities for second-year cornerback Kaiir Elam, who has yet to be activated for a regular game this season. In his rookie last season, Elam was put in a position where he did not have a true mentor on the field aside from Jordan Poyer at the safety position, hence when he struggled he struggled badly.
However, as the 2022 season progressed, he sometimes looked like the best defender on the field. This year through four weeks is the complete opposite.
He was in a cornerback battle throughout training camp with Christian Benford and ultimately lost it. It has been concerning that he has not been active for game days, including the Dolphins’ game that was an expected barnburner.
With the Bills going into London this week, with the secondary taking a massive loss last week, Elam could see action this weekend and it will be a true test to see if he is ready to see the field at a full-time starter status with White being out for the rest of the season.
