The Buffalo Bills are set to play the Washington Commanders today and once again are entering the game with no injury concerns. For the first three weeks of the 2023 season, the Bills have no players with injury designations entering the game.

It seemed earlier in the week that might not be the case as Dawson Knox missed the first two practices with a back injury. However, he was a full participant on Friday and is set to play.

The bigger story from the inactives is the fact that former first round pick Kaiir Elam is a healthy scratch for the third straight week. Elam entered training camp competing for the starting cornerback job opposite Tre'Davious White.

However, he was not only passed by Christian Benford, who has been the starter the first two weeks, but also Dane Jackson. The Bills have elected to have Cam Lewis active on game days over Elam because he contributes on special teams and is the backup at nickel behind Taron Johnson.

The rest of the inactives for the Buffalo Bills are almost exactly the same as the first two weeks with Elam joined by safety Damar Hamlin, offensive tackle Germain Ifedi and offensive lineman Alec Anderson.

The only change is defensive tackle Poona Ford is inactive while defensive end Kingsley Jonathan is active. This could be due to Leonard Floyd dealing with an ankle injury and the Bills coaching staff maybe wanting more depth on the edge.

As for the Washington Commanders, the most notable inactive is tight end Logan Thomas. The veteran had a good start to the season but suffered a concussion last week against the Denver Broncos and was ruled out on Friday.
