No. 2: How the Bills offense flows under Joe Brady
Last year, Joe Brady took over a little after mid-season as the interim offensive coordinator. He got the full-time gig this offseason and there’s much to be excited about. Brady’s offense essentially saved the Bills’ season that was failing and took them to the 2nd round of the playoffs. If not for missed kicks and clutch dropped passes, the Bills may have gone even farther than that in the postseason.
Nonetheless, Brady has now had a full offseason to fully implement his offense. Last year he had to deal with the elements installed by Ken Dorsey. Now it’s fully his show. We get to see how his offense is going to flow in the full transition to his system for the first time on Saturday against the Bears. While yes it is preseason, these are all little key things that matter no matter what time of year it is.
Fans should key in their focus on how this new position-less receiver and spread the ball around offensive system the team is set to operate looks. There is no alpha receiver anymore, or at least to start the season. The team wants to spread the ball around evenly, and if all goes according to plan, this could be the best offense the Bills have deployed in the Josh Allen era. It’s been noted how the Bills receiving core is unselfish and there’s a different vibe to this team this season.
