So far, the Buffalo Bills season has yet to go according to plan. In fact, it’s been a rather weird and unusual one thus far. The team seems to have hit their usual mid-season slump, except it has come very early this year, and has the team sitting at 4-3.
The team has a plethora of injuries on the defensive side of the ball, missing their best players at each level. Offensively, they have just sputtered out the past two to three weeks. Bills’ fans everywhere are in a panic, as the team gears up to take on Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football. Here are four reasons why the Buffalo Bills will win on Thursday and get back on track.
1.) This is a must-win game for the Buffalo Bills
While a loss this week would not literally end the Bills’ season, it would put a huge damper on it. The Bills have dropped two games to inferior opponents, and the argument that all three losses were, could be made.
This was supposed to be the easier part of the Bills' schedule, and stacking wins now would have greatly helped down the stretch. Instead, the team lost games to a Zack Wilson-led Jets team, and a Mac Jones-led Patriots team, with the worst-ranked offense of the year.
After this Thursday night’s game, the Bills have one of, if not the toughest schedule, for the rest of the year. Buffalo will face a gauntlet of teams, including the Bengals, Chiefs, Cowboys, Jets, and the Dolphins again. They have to get back on track and notch a win at home on Thursday.
The Bills have to take advantage of the very minimal amount of games they have left against inferior teams, and this is one of them. A win puts them at 5-3, with a mini bye, because of a Thursday game, which gives them 10 days to prepare for the Bengals. 5-3 keeps them atop the AFC, and if the Dolphins lose, back to first place in the AFC East.
