At one point in the regular season, the Buffalo Bills did not deserve to be in the playoffs. After starting 3-1, they went downhill in the middle of the season before making the change at offensive coordinator from Ken Dorsey to Joe Brady. After that transition, the Bills would lose just two more games on the season (against the Philadelphia Eagles in an overtime thriller and against the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round of the playoffs).

The Bills were 6-6 going into Arrowhead in Week 14 and from there on, they won out, clinched the AFC East division and defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the playoffs. Buffalo had the opportunity to dethrone the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in Buffalo, which was Patrick Mahomes’ first true road playoff game in his career. After taking a 17-13 lead going into halftime, the Chiefs made adjustments and the Bills did not. Kansas City ended up winning and ended Buffalo’s season with a 27-24 victory.

The Bills have fallen short in the divisional round for the third consecutive season and will begin their offseason.

Here are the three things the Bills need to think about going into this offseason period.
