The Los Angeles Chargers are the next team that will have to deal with Josh Allen for four quarters. The Chargers will take on the Buffalo Bills tomorrow at 1PM and the Bills are coming into this game with extra rest from Week 2, giving Josh Allen more time to prepare for them.
Incase you haven’t watched any Bills football these last two weeks, Josh Allen has been pretty good at the absolute minimum. Some might even say he’s been the best player in the entire league. So, it’s really nothing new that we didn’t already know.
Josh Allen has been the best player in NFL the last two games
Allen has passed for 582 yards and 5 touchdowns while protecting the ball with no interceptions. In addition, he has 92 rushing yards for 4 touchdowns with his longest touchdown run being from 21 yards out.
For the past three seasons, Allen has rushed for double digit touchdowns and with him already having 4 through the first 2 games, he is well on his way to making a fourth consecutive season. Infact, the lowest amount of rushing touchdowns he has in a season is 6 back in 2021 which was one of his best seasons as a pro.
Allen has been thriving under Joe Brady since he took over as the offensive coordinator, but now he is on his way to elevating his game even more with Brady as the head coach. Tomorrow's game against the Chargers should be another example of the greatness of Allen, and he has the chance to make some impressive non-typical history from a quarterback point of view.
Bills fans are in for major treat if Josh Allen reaches 1 specific stat line
According to the Buffalo Bills’ PR team, if Allen gets two rushing touchdowns once again, he will become one of four players in NFL history to rush for two touchdowns in their first three games. The other three players are Jim Brown, Stephen Davis, and Priest Holmes.
Allen’s rushing touchdowns don’t just come from within the 1-yard line. They can come from anywhere on the field which is what makes him so dangerous as a player overall. He has one of the most unique skillsets where he can launch the ball through the air, but then also take off from the pocket if nothing is open or if the pressure is coming.
Coming into this game, the Chargers are giving up 86.5 yards per game but the Bills have one of the best rushing attacks that can be extremely tough to stop. It's not just Allen who can make a defense pay the price. Teams also have to worry about James Cook who has helped set Allen up to get into the endzone himself.
Allen and the Bills take the field tomorrow against the Chargers for an early afternoon AFC clash. Will Allen join a list that you would normally only see running backs on? We will find out soon enough.
