Old teammate of Josh Allen highly praises superstar QB, but with a twist
By Brandon Ray
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has been the talk of the NFL this past week. After his historic performance against the San Francisco 49ers, there is no better player to praise than the superstar quarterback in Western New York. This has been one of Allen’s best seasons of his career due to the fact that he is playing smarter football.
The Bills are 10-2 and Allen plays a big role as to why. After dropping back-to-back games in Weeks 4 & 5, the Bills have been on a tear and that is because Allen has been able to put the offense in better scoring position. Not to mention, he’s doing it with a solid offensive line and reliable weapons.
It hasn’t always been great for Allen, who has been a turnover machine up until this season. However, one of his old teammates who played one season with him has publicly supported Allen and the talent he brings to the Bills. Former Bills running back LeSean McCoy played just one season with Allen in 2018 and McCoy has commented on how special he thought Allen was. McCoy is spot on.
McCoy is featured on The Facility FS1 as an analyst along with former NFL players Chase Daniel, Emmanuel Acho, and James Jones. Allen was brought in a segment, led by McCoy in which McCoy talked about past quarterbacks Allen would take over but Allen would need to “add some hardware to his resume”.
LeSean McCoy praises Josh Allen, but makes perfect point on improvement
There were three past quarterbacks that McCoy said he would take Allen over; Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, and even Drew Brees. However, McCoy also talked about how that even though he would take Allen over these three, Allen needs to keep adding to his resume.
Allen has a bunch of records, both in Bills history and in the NFL. The one thing he is missing is some hardware like an MVP award or a Super Bowl MVP. He is too talented to not have an award himself. Sure, he has five AFC East championships under his belt but Allen deserves more than that. With all of the memories he has brought to the Bills and where he currently has the team, Allen is on his way to adding some hardware.
