The Bills had a phenomenal draft.

The Buffalo Bills were one of the few teams that came out of the NFL Draft as true winners. Brandon Beane delivered a solid draft class that features a lot of defense, especially in the secondary and in the trenches. Looking at this draft class, the Bills clearly had one goal in mind and that was to load up on defense. Out of nine picks, only three of them were on offense.

Buffalo didn’t choose an offensive player until the 5th round in tight end Jackson Hawes. Instead, they traded up twice in the second and fourth round for defensive tackles T.J. Sanders and Deone Walker. Not to mention, the Bills also managed to steal edge rusher Landon Jackson in the third round.

The Bills finished out their draft by getting two more corners in Jordan Hancock and Dorian Smith, a blocking tight end in Jackson Hawes, a stud run-blocking lineman in Chase Lundt, and a sneaky big receiver in Kaden Prather. This draft class is one of the better ones that Beane has delivered. Obviously it only matters what happens on the field, but on paper, this is a very strong draft class and Chris Trapasso from CBS Sports also agrees.

Bills get a very high grade with 2025 draft class

Trapasso delivered draft grades for each team, both overall and individual picks. When it came to the Bills, they received an overall grade of A- while four out of nine of their picks got A (Maxwell Hairston, T.J. Sanders, Deone Walker, Jordan Hancock).

Wide recevier Kaden Prather received a B+ while Dorian Strong received a B. As for edge rusher Landon Jackson, he got a B- along with OL Chase Lundt. Then tight end Jackson Hawes got a C+.

"The overwhelming majority of job openings on this Bills team are on the defensive side of the ball, and general manager Brandon Beane added some candidates for said openings with a defensive-laiden draft. Hairston raises the ceiling of the cornerback room -- which was very much needed -- and Sanders gives Buffalo another explosive interior rusher. Jackson has upside on the edge, and Walker is the mammoth nose tackle the defensive front had to get in this draft. "
Chris Trapasso, CBS Sports

Buffalo put a big emphasis on bulking up the defense and the delievered well beyond on the first two round. This draft tells us that Brandon Beane trusts the offense and what they have going. Now it was time to significantly improve the defense.
