Who would have thought that the Buffalo Bills would have a commanding lead within the AFC East through ten games? Well, maybe some fans did but there were a lot of conversations about how the Bills were going to be going downhill this season because of the transitional offseason they had that included losing key franchise players.

After getting off to a hot 3-0 start, the Bills dropped two consecutive games against the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans to fall to 3-2. Not only did they lose, they were dominated by the Ravens and they had horrible game management that led to a Texans walk-off field goal.

The panic meter was at a high because the Bills were heading to New York to take on the Jets, who were 2-3 at that time and the winner of that game would take the lead within the division.

After a back-and-forth game, the Bills escaped with a close 23-20 win that gave the Bills control of the AFC East. Since then, the Bills have won every game and have taken over the AFC East with no real competition. Currently at 8-2, it’s not a matter of if the Bills clinch the division, it’s a matter of when.

Even though the Bills are in fantastic shape to win the division, they were gifted with yet another huge gift with a Jets loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10. New York dropped to 3-7 on the year and their playoff dreams should be officially over.

Buffalo Bills continue to separate themselves from the rest of AFC East

The Jets have been nothing buy hype all season long and they are more dysfunctional than they were under Robert Saleh. Ever since the Jets decided to fire Saleh and promote Jeff Ulbrich to interim head coach, the Jets have just one win and their “all in” mindset is coming back to haunt them.

With the Bills already having the tiebreaker on the Jets and Dolphins, that was the “three-team race” that was expected at the start of the season for the AFC East. The New England Patriots are arguably a better football team than both Miami and New York and the Bills won’t see New England until December.
