After a hot defensive start, the Buffalo Bills started to allow the Indianapolis Colts back in the game slowly. However, they managed to prevail due to the defense standing their ground in the second half. Cornerback Taron Johnson got the Bills on the board first off of a Joe Flacco pick-six on Indianapolis’ first offensive drive of the game. Then on the Colts’ second drive, Flacco was intercepted once again by defensive tackle Austin Johnson, which led to a converted field goal by Tyler Bass to give the Bills a 10-0 lead.

After that, the Colts scored 13 unanswered points to get back into the game. Josh Allen and the offense looked rough and while they did make crucial plays, it also came with some bad interceptions thrown by Allen. For the first time this season, Allen threw his first multi-interception game this year, bumping him up to four interceptions in the last three games.

While he didn’t get into the endzone through the air, he did manage to get a rushing touchdown, placing him second on the all-time list tied with O.J. Simpson for rushing touchdowns in Bills history.

The biggest story that should come out of this Bills win is their defense. You had Taron Johnson get a pick-six to start the game off and then Austin Johnson and safety Taylor Rapp each secured an interception themselves. The Colts had a way to beat the Bills in this game, and that was to run with Jonathan Taylor. However, they opted to not utilize Taylor as much as they should have.

The Bills defense managed to sack Flacco four times and they helped Allen and the offense get into solid field position. Buffalo ended up sealing a 30-20 win over the Colts and a lot of credit should go to the defense.

The last time the Bills won a game against the Colts in Indianapolis, Doug Flutie was the quarterback of the Bills and they defeated a rookie Peyton Manning. It’s been a little while since Buffalo could say they won in Indianapolis. The Bills rise to 8-2 on the year and have their biggest game of the year next Sunday, where they host Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

This was Buffalo’s fourth consecutive game of scoring 30+ points and they have given themselves great momentum going into next week as they get ready to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. They managed to do it with two of their top three receiving options in Keon Coleman and Amari Cooper.
