While the Buffalo Bills have faced a ton of criticism for their lack of help at wide receiver the last two seasons, one unit that has helped the passing attack is their tight end room. That room consists of Jackson Hawes, Dawson Knox, and Dalton Kincaid. You can put together a great argument that Buffalo has the overall best tight end room in the entire NFL.
Knox and Kincaid have been a great duo since 2023, and the addition of Hawes allowed the Bills to bring in an extra blocker to help protect Josh Allen. Out of all three of these players, Kincaid certainly has the highest ceiling.
Anyone who has watched Bills football knows that Kincaid is such a great player, but health has been a problem for him as he has been dealing with a knee injury since the middle of the 2024 season. After playing in 16 games his rookie season, he’s played in atleast 12 games each of the last two seasons. Injuries have unfortunately been part of his journey, but his talent is truly amazing.
Everyone talks about how Josh Allen and Khalil Shakir have had a great connection on the field (which they have) but I would say that the combo of Allen and Kincaid has shown flashes of a Patrick Mahomes-Travis Kelce combo. There just hasn’t been a big sample size. However, that could easily change in 2026.
PFF TEs rankings shows major promise for Dalton Kincaid
Dalton Wasserman and Max Chadwick from Pro Football Focus (PFF) put together a power rankings of the best tight ends going into the 2026 season, and Kincaid lands at No. 6 on the list, which shows the belief that people have of him.
"Kincaid’s third season was his best so far. The former first-round pick’s 86.7 PFF grade was second in the NFL to only George Kittle, while his 2.79 yards per route run were the most in the league. Kincaid also generated a 149.2 passer rating when targeted, the second-best mark among all tight ends." said Wasserman and Chadwick.
Kincaid has been very reliable for the offense when on the field, and now that he will continue to have Joe Brady as his playcaller, he should grow even more in this offense. Plus, the addition of DJ Moore should Kincaid with targets since defenses won’t be able to focus on covering just Kincaid.
As long as Kincaid stays healthy, Bills fans should be expecting him to have his best season as a pro, and prove that he is worth giving a long-term extension with the franchise.
