While the wide receiver room for the Buffalo Bills has been shaky at best the last few seasons, the offense has one of the top tight end rooms in the league and that was solidified last season. Even though Jackson Hawes showed a good amount of promise as a rookie, and Dawson Knox is one of Josh Allen’s favorite redzone targets, Bills fans know that Dalton Kincaid is the best tight end on the team.

In three seasons with the Bills, Kincaid has racked up 1,692 yards and 9 touchdowns, which isn’t exactly the most eye-popping stats. However, he is coming off a career-high 14.6 yards per reception and he also is a great weapon in third-down situations.

Buffalo picked up Kincaid’s 5th-year option, extending his contract to another two years with the team. However, part of Kincaid’s journey has included not being able to stay healthy. He has missed atleast four games the last two seasons each and it was due to a knee injury that he sustained in the middle of the 2024 season.

Even though Kincaid has shown to be a solid weapon for the offense, the Bills are going to need him to stay healthy before investing a long-term contract with him. At the same time, we can't deny the talent that Kincaid has shown to have and he is getting some national recognition across the league.

Bills see impact Dalton Kincaid has made early in his career

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN recently wrote about how executives, coaches, and scouts across the league ranked the league’s best tight ends going into this season, and Kincaid received a little bit of love.

While Kincaid didn’t make the Top 10, he did receive an honorable mention, and he even caught the attention of one NFC executive.

"A very gifted athlete. He hasn't put it all together yet, but that's partly due to injury -- he absolutely can. I expect him to."-- NFC executive - per Jeremy Fowler.

This might be a little controversial, but a Josh Allen-Dalton Kincaid duo has the chance to become a Patrick Mahomes-Travis Kelce-like duo if Kincaid can stay healthy. Kincaid is not a true vertical tight end but he always finds a way to get open for Allen. We have seen glimpses of the connection between Allen and Kincaid, and Joe Brady should be looking to get the combo more involved in the gameplan.

While an honorable mention is great to see for Kincaid, there is a lot of room for improvement and the biggest thing for him is to stay healthy. If he can play a full season, it would not be shocking to see him becoming a Pro Bowl caliber player.
