We are just over 24 hours away from the start of the NFL Draft and there will be shock waves sent out to the NFL world. Whether it's because of draft picks that are made, or even trades that occur, fans are destined to see some shocking moves.

With the Buffalo Bills sitting at the 26th pick in the first round, trading back to gain extra draft capital doesn’t sound like the worst idea. They don’t have a second round pick and there are a good amount of holes to fill across the roster.

While the Bills are not known for making trades involving players during the draft, fans should never say never. Anything can happen, and with the Bills going into the post-Sean McDermott era, anything should be on the table.

Earlier this week, Adam Schefter reported that Bills’ wide receiver Keon Coleman is a possible trade target that could gain interest during the draft, and Alex Kay from Bleacher Report put together a mock trade that involves Coleman getting traded to the San Francisco 49ers.

"While Coleman has been sidelined for stretches with injuries of his own, he's an ideal buy-low player who head coach Kyle Shanahan can rehabilitate within his high-octane offense. Coleman has a meager 67/960/8 stat line over his first 26 career games, but still has plenty of unrealized potential at the age of 22. The Niners are only holding six total picks in the 2026 draft, but giving up one of their three fourth-rounders for an athletic, 6'4", 215-pound prospect with good hands and the potential to develop into a high-volume X receiver is worth the price of admission." said Kay.

Will Keon Coleman get traded during NFL Draft?

It is tough to say because he is still on a rookie deal, and his new head coach Joe Brady has worked closely with him as Brady was his offensive coordinator the last two seasons. Not to mention, the Bills are not in a position to give away receivers as they need to add to that room.

However, we can’t ignore the fact that Coleman does have maturity issues and his production on the field has not been great at all.

If the Bills were seriously thinking about moving on from Coleman, now is the time to do it. There is new coaching staff and we all know that Coleman is no longer a viable No. 1 receiver for this offense. If Buffalo feels that he won’t be part of the long-term future, then now is the time to gain some value back while he is right in the middle of a rookie contract.

Even if Buffalo could gain a Day 3 draft pick for Coleman, that is still valuable. A potential trade to San Francisco sends him out of the conference, and Coleman would have the chance to learn under Mike Evans who signed with the 49ers last month.

It does feel like a win-win for both Buffalo and San Francisco, but only time will tell if a trade does happen that includes Coleman being sent out of Western New York.
