We all know who the best one was, but what about the worst?

As quickly as the NFL Draft is approaching, it will go by very fast in the blink of an eye. It was one of the most exciting times of the offseason for fans, and it is up to team’s front offices to deliver the best rookie draft class for the now and the later.

For the Buffalo Bills, all eyes will be on Brandon Beane, who not only avoided getting fired unlike Sean McDermott back in January, but he was promoted to President of Football Operation along with his title as the general manager. Fans have been very frustrated with Beane with his drafting operations lately, and rightfully so.

At the same time, no one can deny Beane’s biggest draft selection that ultimately saved the franchise from continuing in misery, and that was drafting Josh Allen in 2018.

Bills fans reminded about greatest (and worst ) pick from this century

Bryan DeArdo from CBS Sports recently listed every NFL team’s best and worst draft pick from this century, and DeArdo selected two notable players for the Bills. Obviously, the Bills’ best pick was Allen who has become the face of the franchise for many years and has won an MVP award.

"After a challenging rookie season, Allen enjoyed a meteoric rise that included winning the league MVP in 2024. A Super Bowl is the only thing that has eluded Allen as he enters his ninth season." said DeArdo.

Allen has broken records and has written history as well. Without him, the Bills wouldn’t be the team that they are today.

While Allen is clearly the best draft pick the Bills have had since the start of the century, the Bills also had a draft pick that didn’t workout whatsoever, On DeArdo’s list, quarterback J.P. Losman was listed as Buffalo’s worst draft pick.

"Buffalo drafted worse players than Losman. What makes this the Bills' worst pick is that they traded their 2005 first-round pick to select him. Had they kept that pick, they could have landed Aaron Rodgers." said DeArdo.

Losman played with the Bills for just five seasons where his best season consisted of just reaching over 3,000 passing yards to go with 19 touchdowns to 14 interceptions. Buffalo completely missed on Losman and knowing that they could have had a serious chance at landing Aaron Rodgers in the 2005 draft if they had their first pick that year.

Instead, the Bills' QB drought continued on for many years up until Allen was selected in 2018.
