Last Sunday in Week 1, it was the Josh Allen show against the Baltimore Ravens when he had over 400 total yards and 4 touchdowns in the Bills’ 41-40 comeback win. This week though, he didn’t need to shine. In Buffalo's 30-10 win, Allen wasn't forced to have to carry the Bills which was great to see.

Allen finished the game 14/25 for 148 yards through the air. He also had 59 yards on the ground, but no touchdowns at all. Instead, it was the James Cook show for the Bills and it did not disappoint. Cook rushed for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns, averaging over six yards per carry. He was simply dominant and because of him, the Bills didn't need Allen to shine.

Especially with the injury that Allen suffered to his nose, not having him being forced to carry the team is great to see because then all he needs to do is manage the game, something he usually doesn't do.

Josh Allen didn't need to have big game in Week 2 (and that's okay)

After Buffalo’s win against the Jets, Allen spoke with the media and talked about how since the rushing attack was going so well, there was no need “to fix it” since “it wasn’t broken” per Alex Brasky.

These are the types of games that Bills fans should want to see because it shows that Buffalo can play a well-balanced game. Running the football and playing defense. While it’s great to see the Bills be electrifying and having Allen playing at an MVP level, knowing that they can play this kind of football is reassuring moving forward.

Going into a short week for Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins, the Bills will have the chance to repeat this gameplan if they go up early on a struggling 0-2 Miami Dolphins team that is dealing with multiple injuries on the offensive line, and a struggling secondary that will be tasked to stop Josh Allen.
