No matter what Josh Allen does, no matter what phenomenal plays he makes, no matter how much he carries the Buffalo Bills to victory, there are always going to be doubters about him and find a reason to say that he isn’t the best quarterback or even the best player in the NFL.
Does Allen make mistakes or have bad games? Sure, who doesn’t? It gets extremely frustrating when Allen gets disrespected even though he has delivered some of the best football that fans have ever seen, including doing it without great support around him the last two seasons.
From 2020-2024, Allen had 40+ total touchdowns in each of those seasons and he has also scored 12+ rushing touchdowns the last three seasons. Last season, he had 39 total touchdowns. He hasn’t just broken records, but he also creates history. He has multiple games of 6+ total touchdowns and he has already broken a ton of Bills records with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Latest power rankings list ignores the true impact Josh Allen has made with Bills
Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone put together a power rankings list of the Top 10 players heading into the 2026 season, and Allen was only ranked at No. 5 behind Bijan Robinson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Matthew Stafford, and Myles Garrett.
"Josh Allen is a truly awesome quarterback, and he comes in at No. 5 in our power rankings. When you consider performance, age, and sustained play, Allen is 'pound for pound' the best quarterback in the NFL at the moment." said Scataglia.
"What is a bit troubling, perhaps, is that Allen's passing touchdown totals have dipped each year since his 37 back in the 2020 NFL Season. But in 2025, his completion percentage ose to 69.3 percent, which was the best mark of his career. Allen also added another 579 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns to his career totals. The Buffalo Bills starting quarterback is both an all-star passer and someone who brings legitimate RB2 production on offense as well." Scataglia added.
The only player on this list that should be above Allen is Myles Garrett, and there still might even be a debate about that, depending on who you talk to. I’m sorry, but to say that Allen is only the 5th best player in the entire league when you think about what he has done and had to endure the last two seasons is just nonsense.
Allen is a human highlight reel who has been asked to do the unthinkable at times in order for the Bills to get the win. The fact that he was able to accomplish what he did with a true No. 1 receiver the last two years shows how he is set up for huge success with having DJ Moore in the offense now.
