When you think about the Buffalo Bills and the talent that they have, the most obvious player that comes to mind of who the best is, is Josh Allen and it’s not even close. He’s not just the best player that the Bills have, but you could make the case that he is overall the best player in the league.
He does so much with little support around him in terms of weapons on the outside, and yet he has helped the Bills win double digit games every year since 2019. He is the true MVP of the league because without him, the Bills would be nowhere near where they currently are as a team.
However, the Bills do have some solid players on their roster outside of Allen. Two of them are on the offense with him, and all three of them have earned some recognition from Cody Williams and Jake Beckman of FanSided.com.
Trio of Bills land on top players list ahead of 2026 season
Williams and Beckman listed the Top 50 players heading into the 2026 season, and the trio of Allen (No. 8), James Cook (No. 26), and Dion Dawkins (No. 38) all made it on the list.
Dawkins was placed ahead of players like Derrick Henry, George Kittle, and Joe Burrow. Cook was listed above players like Lamar Jackson, Maxx Crosby, and Aidan Hutchinson. As for Allen, he was placed ahead of guys like Patrick Mahomes, Ja'Marr Chase, and Trent Williams.
Williams about Dion Dawkins:
"He's allowed just 10 sacks in more than 3,000 snaps over the past few years. And for a guy who's still in his early 30s, that level of high-end consistency that has made Dawkins so valuable to the Bills only looks like it's going to keep carrying forward for a while longer." said Williams.
Williams about James Cook:
"After some roster reshuffling, Cook was finally able to be the true lead back for the Bills this past season, and he flat-out dominated. He finished with an NFL-high 1,621 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, along with 291 receiving yards and two more scores. He's a playmaker, no matter how you get him the rock." said Williams.
Williams about Josh Allen:
"Allen is a much different player than someone like Lamar Jackson, but he's every bit as lethal as a duel threat. I've said many times to friends, being on the wrong end of a Allen when he gets running downhill seems like an awful way to spend a Sunday. Not to mention trying to stick with receivers when they're getting a laser beam thrown to them." said Williams.
Each of these players provide some kind of high value to the Bills’ offense, which is part of the reason why they have been one of the best units in recent memory, especially under Joe Brady. Now they will be running it back in 2026 again and there are no signs of them slowing down.
