After the Bills' loss on Sunday Night against the Patriots, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen kept things honest at his post-game press conference.

"We just played sloppy," said Allen. "Not gonna win a football game turning the ball over three times...we just did not play good tonight."

Losing to a 2-2 team at home is obviously not a good look for a team that was previously undefeated. Their next game is against a 2-2 Falcons team, in Atlanta. The Bills need to be careful not to let things spiral, or else the season could quickly begin to get away from them.

It's good to see Allen be so honest, but it's also worth wondering why the team played so sloppy. In a divisional game, at home, under the brightest lights of Sunday Night Football, there is no excuse to play a sloppy game of football. Were the Bills unprepared? Did they take the Patriots for granted?

Or did their 4-0 record get to their head? Buffalo should have been better prepared, especially after they almost fell victim to the Saints in Buffalo a week before.

"We shouldn’t even have been in it with three turnovers," said Allen. "That's just piss poor offense" per Matthew Bove.

He said the offense will need to play better in the future, and he is right about that.

"We'll watch the film, and we'll be better," said Allen.

Bills must bring their A-game in Week 6 vs. Falcons

They'll have to be. This season is no cakewalk, as Buffalo is finding out. After playing four of their first five games at home, they now embark on a road trip to Atlanta and Carolina. While neither team is great, both teams have two wins on the year, and both are more than capable of pulling off an upset win if the Bills do not bring their A-game.

It will have to start next week for Buffalo against Atlanta. The Falcons just proved they were a capable NFL team, scoring 34 points in a win over the 3-2 Washington Commanders. If Atlanta plays Buffalo as close as they played Washington, next week's game for the Bills will not be easy.

So yes, as Allen says, the Bills will need to be better.
