The Buffalo Bills don’t just have the best quarterback in the league, but they have one of the overall best players in the league. After showing tons of promise in his first two years in the pros, Josh Allen solidified himself in 2020 as one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
Since that season, Allen has gone forward and never looked back. Sure, does he make mistakes? Absolutely, name a player that doesn’t. However, he has carried the Bills on his back more than enough times, made some of the best plays we will ever see in history, and has had some of the best performances that may not happen again for a long time.
In addition to him leading the Bills to five consecutive AFC East championships, winning the MVP award in 2024, and holding a lot of various records in NFL and Bills history, Allen has added another honor to his career.
Josh Allen earns great honor ahead of 2026 season
The NFL Top 100 players of 2026 list has been revealed throughout the summer and now that the season is approaching, the top players have been revealed on the list. Allen has come in at No. 2 in the entire NFL, which makes him the highest rated offensive player on the list going into the season.
The only player ahead of Allen was Rams' edge rusher Myles Garrett, which is no surprise considering that he set the new season sack record last season as a member of the Cleveland Browns.

For anyone that is surprised to see this, they shouldn't be. When Allen steps onto the field, everyone knows that he is the best one on the field. Now, Allen enters a season where he saw the Bills go through a bunch of changes, which included the team moving on from Sean McDermott to Joe Brady as their new head coach.
2026 season could be start of something great for Josh Allen
Change was needed for the Bills considering that they have been getting their hearts broken in the postseason for many years. While Brady will remain as Allen’s playcaller on offense, the additions of DJ Moore and Skyler Bell on the outside give Allen a new No. 1 receiver and solid depth for him to throw to.
The rushing attack behind Allen also returns, which takes pressure off of him because of how great James Cook has been since becoming the starter in 2023.
There is a new philosophy in the building, and Allen is right in the middle of it all. He's already shown how great he is despite the limitations he has had to deal with. It's great to see him being picked as the second best player in the entire league, and he is shown it coming off a year where he had very little help at wide receiver. Now with the new additions, he is destined to elevate his game even more.
