When the Buffalo Bills agreed to terms with star edge rusher Joey Bosa, it solidified a big need for the Bills heading into 2025. Bosa, who has spent his entire NFL career with the Chargers, decided to come to Buffalo despite there being reports of San Francisco and Miami making him an offer. His brother plays for the 49ers and his dad played for the Dolphins. He decided to come to Buffalo to win.

The Bills managed to bring Bosa to Buffalo on a one-year deal worth $12.6 million. It’s not a huge commitment to Bosa, but he still makes decent money to come to a winning culture. At 29 years old, Bosa is still in his prime and he provides a veteran presence in the edge rusher room.

Adding Bosa to the roster helps improve Buffalo’s pass rush (as long as he stays healthy), which can then help out the secondary. If Bosa and company are able to consistently apply pressure, it takes pressure off of the safeties and corners to have to play perfect coverage for all four quarters.

Josh Allen is thrilled with Bills signing Joey Bosa

Bills’ MVP quarterback Josh Allen spoke with the media today via zoom and he was about the news of Bosa signing with the Bills, and the superstar quarterback is excited to team up with him.

According to Alex Brasky, Allen said that the signing is “pretty cool” and that “he is glad he doesn’t have to go against him”. Allen also stated that Bosa “has proven that he can play at the highest level.”

Having a ferocious pass rusher on your team rather than chasing you down is always great news for a quarterback. With the way that Bosa plays, Allen should be thrilled that he doesn’t have to worry about him chasing him down inside and outside the pocket.

The biggest thing about Bosa that people are concerned about is his injury history. Yes, he’s only played in 28 regular season games the last three years. Maybe giving him $12.6 million isn’t the best overall investment, but it’s a solid one nonetheless. When Bosa is on the field, he is someone that you have to gameplan for.

Having to deal with Allen on offense and Bosa on defense is going to be a nightmare for opposing teams.
