Every NFL fan knows the greatness that Josh Allen has and what he means to the Buffalo Bills. He is one of those overall players that does way more great than bad, and he also is beloved by the entire community of Western New York which is just an added bonus.
What made Josh Allen quickly rise as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL was the Bills getting Stefon Diggs from the Minnesota Vikings. Once Diggs was traded out of Buffalo, Allen was left without a No. 1 receiver for the next two seasons, and yet he still managed to win the MVP award in 2024.
However, last season definitely showed that the Bills needed to get a top receiver for Allen and they did so by trading for DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears. Moore played under Joe Brady back in Carolina, and now he becomes the No. 1 target for Allen.
While Moore’s production has dipped a little bit with the Bears the last two seasons, it’s because Chicago added two more receivers in Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III, and a tight end in Colston Loveland. Now with him being in Buffalo, there’s no reason why Moore shouldn’t be a 1,000-yard receiver again.
Fans are hoping that Allen and Moore become the next big duo in the league, and there are more reasons than not why they should be. However, Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone is placing this new duo a little low in a recent QB/WR duo power ranking list.
Duo of Josh Allen & DJ Moore receive lower-than-expected power ranking placement
Scataglia has the duo of Allen and Moore ranked at No. 9 out of the ten duos that were placed in the rankings. The only duo that they were ahead of was Bo Nix and Jaylen Waddle of the Denver Broncos.
"Josh Allen and DJ Moore come in at No. 9 in our power rankings. Moore fell out of favor a bit with the Chicago Bears in the 2025 season, only finishing with 682 yards and six touchdowns. However, Moore has had zero issues hitting the 1,000-yard mark in previous seasons." said Scataglia.
"He's been a productive player his entire career and is now getting to catch passes from one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the NFL. Allen's passing production, at least touchdown pass wise, as actually declined each year since 2020, but Allen is 100 percent capable of feeding a No. 1 WR the ball time and time again, so expect Moore to have 1,000 yards for Buffalo this year." Scataglia added.
Allen’s passing touchdown production has decreased each season since 2020, that is true. Then again, during that span, the Bills have also had him utilize his legs to get into the endzone (he has scored 12+ rushing touchdowns in each of the last 3 seasons).
The wide receiver room the last two seasons hasn’t been great at all for the Bills. While Khalil Shakir is solid slot guy, there was only so much he can do. Now with Moore joining the offense, the Bills get their new No. 1 and the last time that Allen had one, there was a consistent 1,000+ yard receiver on the roster.
Not to mention, the fact that Drake Maye and A.J. Brown were placed higher than Allen and Moore is just beyond ridiculous. Allen is the better quarterback, and Moore is a better fit for what the Bills are doing as compared to what the Patriots do with their offense.
