The offense for the Buffalo Bills has had its ups and downs for years, but they have consistently been one of the better units in the league. Despite the challenges that have had to go through, Josh Allen has done a great job at making the impossible seem easy. Now granted, he can’t always do it by himself, but there are plenty of times where he does.

With Joe Brady now in charge of the whole team, along with the playcalling for the offense, it will be up to him to put everyone in the right position to help the Bills more than ever. The good news is that Brady has been working with a lot of these players already as the former offensive coordinator, and one of the players that has shown signs of great potential is tight end Dalton Kincaid.

Dalton Kincaid set up for big 2026 season (if he can stay healthy)

When the Bills traded up in the 2023 NFL Draft to get Kincaid, it brought on some confusion because the Bills had just extended Dawson Knox to a 4-year deal. The move to go get Kincaid wasn’t the worst move, but it was a bit unexpected.

Through three seasons, Kincaid has shown plenty of flashes to help elevate this offense. However, his injuries have been a concern. He hasn’t played more than 13 games in a season since 2024, and it’s partially been due to a knee injury that he has been dealing with. Luckily, Joe Brady has talked about how much progress Kincaid has made this offseason in terms of getting better.

Kincaid has been a sneaky go-to target for Josh Allen, and Kincaid has been elevated under Brady as the offensive coordinator. So now with Brady being the head coach, there's no reason why he shouldn't continue to vastly improve as long as he stays healthy.

Throughout the summer, the duo of Allen and Kincaid have shown potential signs of what could come from this duo. With the Bills having a joint practice with the Cleveland Browns ahead of their Saturday preseason game, Allen spoke on how on the "tight ends had a good day" and how he has "really clicking on the same page right now with Dalton Kincaid" per Jonathan Acosta from WGRZ.

Dalton Kincaid enters crucial 2026 season with Bills

The Bills opted to pick up the 5th-year option on Kincaid’s rookie contract, which tells us that the Bills clearly see him as a potential long-term player. However, his injuries have held him back from reaching his full potential. The good news is that Kincaid is set up to play football in Western New York for the next two seasons.

With that being said, Kincaid does have pressure on him to not just stay healthy, but also deliver for the offense. There has been a ton of hype surrounding him this offseason, but all that matters is what he does when the games actually count.
