When the Buffalo Bills traded up for tight end Dalton Kincaid in 2023, it was clear that they saw something special in him. Coming out of Utah as the best tight end in that draft class, the Bills gave Josh Allen his own version of Travis Kelce. Kincaid has been solid for the Bills the last three seasons, but injuries have also played a role in his career.

Kincaid has dealt with different injuries that have prevented him a full season in his career. Over the last two seasons, Kincaid has missed atleast four games in both 2024 and 2025 primarily due to a knee injury that he suffered in 2024 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Despite him missing action, the Bills have still received solid production from Kincaid who has been a great go-to weapon for Josh Allen. With his improvement in production last season, the Bills picked up his 5th-year option, signaling a potential long-term future with the Bills. However, he will still have to earn that second contract from the Bills.

With Joe Brady as a playcaller for pretty much his entire career and now having him as a head coach, Kincaid is set up to thrive in Buffalo.

Joe Brady gives Bills fans Dalton Kincaid update that will have them fired up

The offseason programming is continuing on in Buffalo, and Brady spoke with the media, giving them a great update about Kincaid. Per Maddy Glab, Brady said that Kincaid “visibly looks bigger and stronger this offseason”. Glab also added that Brady said “he feels like Kincaid’s in a good headspace right now.”

It’s only May, and anything can happen for sure. However, hearing this update about Kincaid should have Bills fans excited for what Kincaid can truly become in this offense. With the upgrades at wide receiver with D.J. Moore and Skyler Bell, it gives the Bills more options to open the playbook which could lead Kincaid to one-on-one coverage against the defense.

Kincaid getting his 5th-year option picked up is great news for him, but now it’s time for him to show the front office that he is worthy of the investment for the long-term. The Bills are in a championship window as long as Josh Allen is in his prime. They have to maximize that opportunity before it goes away. Fans should be hoping that Kincaid is part of that plan.
