Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are no strangers to each other. Since 2020, both of these quarterbacks have faced off against each other in some capacity. Whether it is the regular season or the playoffs, fans have had the pleasure of seeing #15 taking on #17 and it never disappoints.

Both quarterbacks have advantages against each other somehow, someway. Allen has only lost to the Chiefs once in the regular season, while Mahomes has never lost to the Bills in the playoffs. There’s no denying that the playoffs are more of a big deal, but the Bills should be heavily credited with their regular season wins.

It’s not easy to win in the NFL, especially against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Ever since Mahomes took over as the starter in 2018, the Chiefs have built themselves up as the most recent dynasty and have taken on that role from the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots. The Chiefs have won three Super Bowls with Mahomes and are looking to make a run at a three-peat this year.

As for Buffalo, they still have the obstacle of getting over the hump against Kansas City in the playoffs. In three of the last four playoffs, Buffalo has been eliminated by Mahomes and the Chiefs. However, the regular season is a different story and the matchups in the regular season show why Buffalo is the best team that can knock off the Chiefs in the postseason.

With the Bills’ 30-21 victory over the Chiefs yesterday, Josh Allen has become the only quarterback that has defeated Patrick Mahomes four times in his career, per NFL on CBS.

Josh Allen is the biggest threat who can take down Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs

Allen doesn’t have an issue beating Mahomes, he just has run into some bad luck come playoff time against him. In their first playoff meeting, the Bills were lucky to get to the AFC championship game while the Chiefs had established themselves as true Super Bowl contenders.

In their last two playoff meetings, Allen didn’t get the chance to touch the ball in overtime in 2022 while Mahomes walked down the field and eliminated the Bills in a thriller, and then Tyler Bass missed a game-tying field goal last postseason.

Now the focus for Allen and the Bills will be to chase the number one seed in the AFC. While they need to keep on winning, the Chiefs have to lost atleast one more game to have the same record as Buffalo, therefore advancing the Bills ahead of the Chiefs in the conference standings.
