The month of September is coming to an end and the Buffalo Bills will kick off their October schedule this Sunday back in Orchard Park. For the first time this season, the Bills are going to be playing in an AFC East clash as they host the New England Patriots.
While the Bills remain unbeaten at 3-0, the Patriots will come into this game at 1-2 following a disastrous 35-6 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Just 8 months ago, the Patriots were in the Super Bowl and now they are playing like they aren't a real playoff contender through three weeks.
Sure, the Bills didn't look the best on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, but they have taken down the Texans and Lions in the first two weeks, and their defense stepped up big time to take down the Chargers in Week 3.
Even though the Bills are well ahead of the Patriots right now, we know that anything can happen on any given day. Just like going into Week 3 against the Chargers, the Bills are facing a trap game situation going into this coming Sunday against the Patriots.
Bills enter second consecutive trap game going into Week 4
When the Chargers had lost to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2, they were an utter mess. Not to mention, they had lost to the Arizona Cardinals a week prior. With them having to come to Buffalo, you could easily say that the Chargers stood no chance against the Bills because of the way Buffalo was playing.
If you watched the Bills and Chargers on Sunday, then you saw how Buffalo had to fight back and have a lot of luck in order to have a miracle happen. Buffalo's offense turned the ball over five times, and yet they still won by 8 points. How is that even possible?!
Now with the Patriots coming to town, their biggest storyline through three games is how awful Drake Maye has been playing. The runner-up for the 2025 MVP award has just one touchdown to six interceptions, and he has been sacked nine times.
Overall, Maye looks terrible through three games and you would think that Buffalo's defense would have the chance to make him look even worse. We all know, though, that division games are tough. Let's not forget either, the last time Maye played in Buffalo, he led the Patriots to a primetime 23-20 win that gave Buffalo their first loss of the 2025 season.
Week 3 game against Chargers should give Bills preview of Week 4 could be
We just saw the Bills struggle against a Chargers team that had no business being in the game as much as they were. LA flew across the country with a horrendous offense to take on a Bills team that had so much momentum. They gave Buffalo a run and had it not been for the defense embarrassing Justin Herbert in the 4th quarter, the Bills could easily be sitting at 2-1 right now.
The Patriots come to town, and it's going to be an emotional game. Fans expect the Bills and Patriots to be battling for the AFC East for years to come. However, the Bills have a nice lead in the division and the Pariots have some catching up to do. The Patriots will have a big opportunity to make a statement against Buffalo, but the Bills have to do whatever it takes to send them back to Foxborough looking more rough than they already do.
