Josh Allen and the Bills officially performed the impossible in loss to Rams
By Brandon Ray
This Week 14 loss against the Los Angeles Rams is going to hurt for a little bit for the Buffalo Bills. Not because it was a blowout, but because it is the leading candidate for game of the year and the Bills came out on the losing end.
When it came to the Bills offense, there were almost no issues when the second half came around. The Bills found themselves down 31-14 at one point and it looked like they were clearly on their way to their third loss of the season. Instead, the Buffalo offense came roaring back and made it a close game in the 4th quarter and the Bills had a legit shot at escaping LA with a win.
However, the only feeling that Bills fans are feeling is disappointment and anger. We could sit here and debate on what should have gone different. Maybe you think it was coaching that failed the Bills. Maybe it was the Bills defense that completely fell apart and only forced one punt all game long. No matter what, we will never know now.
One thing we do know now is that the Bills made the wrong kind of history in this thrilling loss. According to Dante Koplowitz-Fleming, teams who scored atleast six touchdowns and had zero turnovers in a game were 245-0 in the Super Bowl era, which includes in the playoffs. Josh Allen alone had six touchdowns himself (3 passing and 3 rushing). The Bills did not turn the ball over once and yet they lost, making them the first team being that lonely one on the record.
Bills' thrilling loss to Rams puts them on the wrong side of history
While Allen was out there creating history, the Bills ended this game on the wrong side of history. For an offense to put up 40+ points and still lose is a hard fact to accept. This loss is going to sting for a couple of days, but atleast it came against a non-conference opponent that was looking for a way to stay alive in their own playoff race.
Buffalo’s offense has no reason to be disappointed. The defense on the other hand, that’s a different story. They will have a lot to clean up for next week when they take on a high-powered Detroit Lions offense in Detroit next Sunday.
