Last season was an amazing one for the Buffalo Bills when you consider what they went through in the prior offseason. Despite losing a lot of their veterans that they had for many years Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Mitch Morse, Gabe Davis, Stefon Diggs, and Tre’Davious White), the Bills still managed to put up one of their best seasons in franchise history.
They finished the regular season 13-4, five games ahead of the second place Miami Dolphins (8-9) and made it to the AFC championship where they were very close to finally getting past the Kansas City Chiefs. While they didn’t get the chance to compete for the Super Bowl, they exceeded expectations and it was capped off with Josh Allen winning his first career MVP award.
Allen rightfully deserved the MVP award. While Lamar Jackson had just as great of a 2024 season, Allen is more valuable to the Bills than Jackson is to the Ravens. The 2025 season could be a lot of fireworks for the Bills as this is one of the best rosters the team has had in quite some time.
With that being said, there are four members of the Bills including Josh Allen who have a real shot at winning major NFL awards for the 2025 season.
Fans should be looking out for these Bills to shine in 2025
QB Josh Allen - MVP Award
It wasn’t too long ago where there was a back-to-back MVP award winner (Aaron Rodgers from 2020-2021). Some fans may argue that Lamar Jackson should have won his second consecutive award last season, but that’s just simply not true. Allen deserved it more, and there’s no reason why he can’t do it again in 2025.
He didn’t lose anyone major on the offense. He will have the same offensive line and newly added weapons in Joshua Palmer and Elijah Moore to pair with Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, and Curtis Samuel.
He’s a dynamic playmaker who knows how to make a defense pay the price. Don’t be surprised when Allen picks up where he left off and wins his second MVP award of his career.
DE Joey Bosa - Defensive Player of the Year Award
The Bills’ biggest free agent acquisition is looking to have a bounce back season with the Bills after being affected with injuries the last three seasons. Joey Bosa is ferocious on the defensive line when he’s healthy. His biggest problem is just his ability to stay on the field. The last three years, he’s played in 28 total regular season games out of a possible 51.
He took a one-year deal to move across the country to join a championship contender and this might be his last true season where he can be a big-time impactful player. If he manages to stay healthy and can get back to his old form, he can easily put himself into the conversation as the Defensive Player of the Year.
OC Joe Brady - Assistant Coach of the Year Award
It was shocking that Joe Brady wasn’t awarded this award last season after putting together an offense that averaged 30+ points despite losing more talent than adding. However, if Brady can do it again in 2025 with the additions that the Bills have on offense, it will be impossible to ignore Brady as a serious candidate for this award.
If Brady does indeed thrive once again this season, Bills fans may see him saying bye to move on to a new head coaching position elsewhere.
DT T.J. Sanders - Defensive Rookie of the Year Award
This prediction might be a true wildcard, but there’s a reason why the Bills were willing to trade up 15 spots to draft defensive tackle T.J. Sanders out of South Carolina. He is someone who can play anyone on the defensive line and still have the same power and speed to get off the ball.
While Sanders more than likely won’t be a true starter on the Bills’ defense, it doesn’t mean he won’t become Buffalo’s arguably best interior defensive lineman in 2025. He has a great chance to be a starter as soon as next season and 2025 might just show all of us a great future that he will have in Buffalo.
