General manager Brandon Beane has done a fantastic job at building up the roster for the Buffalo Bills since coming to Western New York. Whether it’s through the draft or free agency, no one can say that Beane doesn’t know what he’s doing. He clearly does.

He has to make tough decisions every year, whether they are popular or not but either way, he hasn’t steered the wrong way (most of the time) and until he does, the Bills are in good hands with him.

Going into the 2025 season, there are four notable Bills players who have the chance to become one of, if not the best at their respective positions which shows the magic that Beane has done during his time.

4 Bills set to become the best at their position in 2025

RB James Cook

It’s been a vocal and loud offseason for James Cook, who is seeking a contract extension from the Bills. He’s not backing down from getting atleast $15 million per year and the Bills don’t seem to be caving in so this story will get more interesting as the season continues on.

Cook is the Bills’ second best offensive player behind Josh Allen and going into a contract year, he’s looking to prove to the Bills (and maybe other teams) why he believes he deserves the money he thinks he’s worth. Contract-year players tend to perform at a high level and for Cook, the setup is no different.

EDGE Joey Bosa

The former No. 3 overall pick back in 2016 is on a new team for the first time in his career with the Bills, and he is on a bit of a prove-it deal. Joey Bosa joins a championship contender and is looking to prove that he is the missing piece that Buffalo needs in order to get over the top.

Bosa has an injury history and that’s going to be the biggest concern every week. However, this could be his last chance to prove that he can still be a game-wrecker and potentially earn one big contract after 2025. It’s now or never for Bosa going into this season.

TE Dalton Kincaid

The third-year tight end out of Utah enters a season where it could determine his future in Buffalo. Since Dalton Kincaid was a first-round pick in 2023, the Bills will have to make a decision on whether or not to pick up his fifth-year option next year. He’s shown promise the last two seasons, but hasn’t shown any sort of “Wow!’ factor.

He will be out to prove that he can be a go-to guy for Josh Allen this season. Early on in training camp, he and Allen have connected a lot of touchdowns (especially in OTAs). Let’s hope it can happen during the season as well.

LB Terrel Bernard

This might be a stretch, but Terrel Bernard has been one of the most overlooked linebackers in the NFL the past two seasons. He’s recorded 100+ tackles the last two consecutive seasons and has become the quarterback of the Bills defense. Overall, Bernard has become the player that a lot of Bills fans were hoping that Tremaine Edmunds would become when he was with the Bills.

Don’t be surprised when you look back at this upcoming season and see Bernard have better statistics and play than some of the more well-known names across the league.
