The Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans are in a back-and-forth battle down in Texas, where the Bills are looking for their first win in Houston since 2006. The Bills took a 24-21 lead into halftime which included Josh Allen getting into the endzone three times. Allen’s big touchdown in the first half was his 43-yard touchdown to DJ Moore to put the Bills up by ten.
While the touchdown to Moore was the most electrifying one, Allen managed to get into the endzone on the ground twice before then. His two first-half touchdowns gave him 81 career rushing touchdowns, which ties him with Frank Gore and Ottis Anderson for 20th all-time on the NFL's rushing TD list, per the Buffalo Bills' PR team.

Josh Allen shines in first half vs. Texans
Going into this game, Allen faced a ton of pressure because historically, he has not performed well when he is in Houston. The Texans have had one of the best defenses in the league under DeMeco Ryans, and they know how to chase down Allen.
In the first half, while they did provide some pressure, Allen made more good than bad which was great to see if you’re a Bills fan.
Allen was solid against the Texans in the first two quarters, going 8/11 for 163 yards and 3 total touchdowns. That was a bit unexpected because of how great the Texans' pass rushers are, but getting off to a fast start was exactly what the offense needed.

While the offense put on a bit of a surprising effort for the better, Buffalo’s defense had some challenges themselves as they allowed Houston’s offense to put up 21 points, which included a late 2nd-quarter touchdown to put the game within three points.
Defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard was tested, and now he will need to find a way to improve this unit for the second half to get out of Houston with a 1-0 record. Buffalo’s offense was the best unit in the first half, but they need the defense to step it up, especially if the game is coming down to the wire and the Texans have the ball with a chance to win it.
While the Bills will look to get a win in Houston, seeing Allen get into the endzone twice on the ground, and three times total, he continues to elevate his Hall of Fame career with his dual-threat ability.
