It took Josh Allen one half to make Bills franchise history on SNF
By Brandon Ray
It’s been a fun Sunday Night Football performance by the Buffalo Bills. Going into halftime, the Bills currently lead the San Francisco 49ers 21-3 after Jake Moody missed a last second field goal try to end the first half. The Bills got off to a slow start with a quick three-and-out drive, but would then follow up with the three back-to-back-to-back touchdown drives.
San Francisco went up 3-0 and it’s been all Bills since then. First it was Ray Davis taking it in from five yards out. Then James Cook only took one play to run the ball 65 yards to give the Bills a 14-3 lead. Before the end of the half, Josh Allen led the offense 97 yards and connected with wide receiver Mack Hollins for a 7-yard touchdown pass to put the Bills up 21-3.
However, that touchdown pass from Allen to Hollins was a historic throw for fans to witness. That touchdown pass gave Josh Allen the record for the most touchdowns in franchise history (245).
Josh Allen passes fan favorite Jim Kelly on Bills’ all-time touchdown list
Seeing Allen yet again set records for the franchise should be no surprise to anyone. However, the fact that Allen now holds the record for the most total touchdowns in franchise history at 28 years old is unbelievable. He is in the middle of his prime and he is showing no signs of slowing down.
Allen can only keep going up from here and it would not be surprising to see Allen reach atleast 300+ touchdowns by the time his tenure with the Bills comes to an end. He continues to show that he is the best quarterback Buffalo has had since Kelly.
There is still a second half to go and Allen has the next five weeks to keep making history this year and still has many more years to come as a Bill. At this point, we should all just get used to seeing Allen rewrite the history books for both the Bills, and for NFL history.
