49ers setting up Brock Purdy to fail on SNF is a mighty gift for Bills

Even though Brock Purdy will more than likely play tonight, the 49ers are setting him up for failure.

Sunday Night Football is just a couple hours away and we will get to see the Buffalo Bills back in action for the first time in two weeks. Coming off a bye week, the Bills got some well-deserved rest after a huge Week 11 win over the Kansas City Chiefs and now turn their attention to the San Francisco 49ers.

While the Bills got some fantastic news about the return of Matt Milano, and even getting Spencer Brown back on the offense line, the 49ers are a mess with injuries. Last Sunday, the 49ers went to Green Bay without the services of Brock Purdy, Trent Williams, and Nick Bosa. Not to mention, Deebo Samuel has been a disappointment this year and Brandon Aiyuk is out for the season.

Coming into this game, the 49ers’ injury struggles will continue. While Purdy is expected to go tonight, per Kyle Shanahan, via Ian Rapoport, he is missing a lot of help once again.

Even though Purdy is a massive upgrade from Brandon Allen, Purdy is going into this game without the whole left side of his offensive line. Trent Williams will miss this game and left guard Aaron Banks was also ruled out. Missing half of your offensive line is already tough enough. Purdy will have to do it on the road, under the bright lights, and in horrible weather in Buffalo.

Brock Purdy’s return in Week 13 is a gift for Bills

This is not meant to be a knock on Purdy, but the 49ers are not putting him in a great position and it wound’t be surprising at all to see him struggle. Not to mention, he has been battling a shoulder injury the last couple of weeks.

The Bills’ defense is getting a gift with this move. The unit has been playing great situational football and they have the opportunity to be an x-factor in this game to help the Bills clinch the AFC East. However, they cannot forget about playmakers like Christian McCaffrey, Jordan Mason, and George Kittle. Overlooking players like them will come back to haunt them.

Tune in on NBC tonight for an 8:20PM ET kickoff where the Bills looks to get their 10th victory and secure their fifth consecutive division championship.
