The Buffalo Bills are off to a solid start in Week 8 against the Carolina Panthers, which says something considering how they performed in their last two games against the Patriots and Falcons. Buffalo took a 6-0 lead before Carolina got onto the board, but then the Bills scored back-to-back touchdowns to open up the game a bit.
The first touchdown of the game went to James Cook, who ripped off a 64-yard touchdown run to put the Bills up 12-3. It helped Cook reach 146 yards in the first half alone.
Then after DE A.J. Epenesa read a quick screen play correctly, he intercepted Andy Dalton and almost took it to the endzone himself but was knocked down at the one-yard line. That set up a QB sneak by Josh Allen to get Buffalo into the endzone to take a 19-3 lead going into the half.
Josh Allen rushing touchdown gets him closer to making history
Per the Buffalo Bills' PR X team, with that rushing touchdown by Allen near the end of the first half, he has now rushed for 76 career touchdowns (regular season and playoffs) which only trails Cam Newton, who has 77. Once Allen gets two more rushing touchdowns, he will have the record.
Josh Allen now has 76 career rushing TDs (including playoffs) which trails only Cam Netwon (77) for the most in NFL history by a QB.

First off, it’s ironic that Allen gets a step closer to this milestone against Cam Newton’s old team. However, are we even really surprised that Allen is getting closer to even more history? Every week, it seems like he just has to do one or two things to tie or make history, whether it’s in the air or on the ground.
Allen hasn’t had the best game overall against Carolina, but him getting into the endzone should give him some confidence as the Bills look to close this game out and get back into the win column.
